Necklift

Neck Lift

Like the face, the skin and muscles of the neck are prone to the effects of ageing, gravity and genetics. This may result in drooping folds of redundant skin on the neck, loss of jawline definition, unsightly bands visible on the front of the neck or the loss of the natural angle between the face and neck.

Neck lifts are often performed in association with a facelift but can be done independently for both young and old people.

A neck lift usually involves several components targeted at the particular problems relevant to you. The procedure may involve removal or redraping of loose skin, tightening or adjustment of the underlying platysma muscle causing the tight bands and excision or liposuction of any excess underlying fat.

Why it’s done

The neck lift surgery is done to treat the following:

  • Excess fat and skin relaxation in the lower face that creates jowls
  • Excess fatty deposits under the chin
  • Loose neck skin
  • Muscle banding in the neck, which created abnormal contours
  • A loss of definition in the area under the chin and jawline from the neck area
