Moles
Moles
Our skin grows many different types of benign and malignant tumours, commonly called ‘moles’.
An initial consultation will be done to assess what type of mole you have with a secondary assessment done for a more conclusive diagnosis.
Treatment of moles is undertaken if there are features suspicious for skin cancer or if the appearance can be improved in line with your expectations.

Why it’s done
Removing moles may be performed to rule out skin cancer or to remove benign (non-cancerous) moles that may be unattractive or bothersome to the patient.
Any mole that looks significantly different to your others or is undergoing change should be examined by your doctor.
